Pooja and Royce's Wedding

It’s a truth universally acknowledged, that we have the best clients and meet the loveliest people. Lala first met Pooja during a wedding stationery consultation for her older sister in 2018. The whole family was so welcoming and joyous that Lala felt like she was part of the family. She was thrilled when Pooja messaged in 2021 to announce her engagement – it was like having a little sister getting married! We were delighted to bring Pooja and Royce’s wedding stationery dreams to life, and we’re not exaggerating when we say that we were squealing with joy when we saw how incredibly everything came together (we even filmed a reaction video on our Insta story!)

Fremantle is a special place to Pooja and Royce, as they shared many date nights there, so choosing Guildhall had extra meaning to them. The venue perfectly encapsulated the couple’s romantic and fun vibe, and the florals and candles elevated it to the next level. Pooja dreamed of statement pieces and Kara at Rose and Bud delivered! The beautiful day was captured expertly by Adam Levi Browne, with Pooja and Royce’s love for each other shining through in every photograph. Mark Kenny Celebrations was amazing as celebrant, MC, and singer, and he even sang their first dance! Pooja looked like a princess in a Stella York dress from Tuscany Bridal, with her hair by Michele from Dry Bye and makeup by Daniella Piscopco, while Royce rocked a modern grey suit from Briton Formal Wear. Propeller catered the wedding with amazing modern Middle Eastern food that everyone enjoyed. After the speeches were done and dinner was settled, Pooja changed into a gorgeous Indian outfit, before doing the cake cutting. Kate from Blonde Baking Mama created the stunning pressed flower 3-tier cake with vanilla, red velvet, and chocolate flavours.

Congratulations to the gorgeous couple! We wish you all the happiness in the world, Pooja and Royce xo

On choosing Lala Design | Paper & Ink Studio for their wedding stationery. I was first introduced to Lala while planning my older sister Hema’s wedding in 2018. The Lala | Paper & Ink Girls did an amazing job with my sister’s wedding invitations and stationery. We were really impressed with the final products and how beautiful my sister’s wedding was, so, of course, we had to contact Lala Design | Paper & Ink Studio for our own wedding invitations and stationery. And again, Lala and her team did a fantastic job creating our invitation and stationery to match our wedding vibe, venue, and the colours that we wanted.

"Lala and her team are awesome, have such friendly personalities, and made the whole process fun. Their expertise and professionalism were constantly reassuring, and I love the friendship we have now formed."

Reflecting on the process. ‘Our wedding style and vibe was modern, young, and fun. We incorporated our vision to create something fun, young, and intimate to match our chosen venue (Guildhall Event Space), which brought it to life perfectly. We had all the traditional elements but also kept it modern and intimate to celebrate of our love and togetherness with our family and friends.

Lala Design | Paper & Ink Studio made our wedding invitation and stationery process great by consulting with us and sending design briefs and artwork proofs to make edits to. The client portal was the best thing – so efficient, effective, and easy to use and navigate.

"The Lala Design | Paper & Ink girls were so accommodating and patient with us, and the final products were beyond amazing! We were overjoyed with the magic that they created for us."

Pooja and Royce's Wedding Invitations

On making their dream wedding come true. ‘Royce and I had our traditional Hindu Ceremony a month earlier, so we displayed the photos at Guildhall to embrace and celebrate both weddings. I also wore my wedding necklace from the Hindu Wedding throughout the day, which our celebrant Mark pointed out at the start of the ceremony. The wedding necklace called Thali or Mangalsutra symbolises the groom’s commitment, love, promise and respect of the bride, and also symbolises a wedded woman. So that was pretty special to wear throughout the day.’

Pooja’s favourite memory from the day. ‘Royce and I had a moment just to ourselves before dinner, where we sat in the lounge, had a glass of champagne and ate canapés, and soaked in the moment. Ooh and also towards the end of the night, Royce and I chilled by the bar and took it all in that we had the best day and our dream wedding became a reality.’

"It was magical and exactly how I wanted it to be. The florals, the table setting, the atmosphere, the wedding stationery, the candles - aah everything was perfect!"

Pooja’s parting words of wisdom. ‘Do not stress about the small details… Everything will come together beautifully, just be positive and enjoy it! Take it all in together, as the day and night go quickly.’

"Take a moment with just the two of you to embrace being married and enjoy your special day."
