Consider this your sneak peek at what’s going on behind the scenes of Lala Design – a place where we get to work with amazing clients who not only shower us with yummy treats (we are spoiled!) but also allow us the freedom to flex our creative muscles. It’s also where we get to work with soon-to-be-newlyweds who put their trust in us to capture the essence of their love story. Every day is different – just like every love story – and we love it.
Here’s what’s been happening recently.
New York Madness
If you follow me on Instagram you probably caught some posts from my whirlwind trip to New York back in August. Why did I fly 26 long hours to spend just six short days in the Big Apple? Well, I had an incredible opportunity to grow my stationery business, so I grabbed it with both hands and it was life changing.
I spent two full days surrounded by 37 amazing, passionate stationery designers. Our sole focus was to learn new ways to elevate our service, our clients’ experience and work systems, and I learned a lot.
Not only did I leave feeling motivated and armed with new business tools, but I made 37 new friends who were interested in the lessons I’d learned from 16 years in the industry.
A reminder to all those business owners out there: don’t forget to invest in yourself. If you get an opportunity to grow, make sure you grab it, even if it involves a long-haul flight and jet lag.
KINDNESS NINJA PROJECT
The Kindness Ninja Project has been 5 years in the making and it’s finally done – yippee! It’s a small initiative with the biggest of hearts and the widest of reaches. The project mission is to bring back a little bit of kindness into our everyday lives and I would LOVE for you to join me.

CLIENT SPOTLIGHT - MARDIE & CO
We call the magnificence above Mardie Magic and the insanely creative, super nice lady behind it – Mardie Rosich – is one of our crushes. We’ve worked with Mardie + Co over the last five years and she blows us away with her concepts and activations.
Her latest activation, Pollen Pit, is part of the City of Perth’s Sense of Spring event and it is the perfect place to take a spring selfie (or 50). You can find it at Raine Square until 13 October. Be sure to follow Mardie + Co on Instagram to see more of the team’s amazing work.
PT WORKSHOP WITH LALA
I am super excited to be hosting another event with Chiara from Owl and Bear. This workshop is for business owners to Reset, Refocus, Restart and in it we’ll be sharing the top 10 things you should be doing in your business now, regardless of what stage you’re at.

BRIDES CHOICE AWARDS 2019
We’re more than a little chuffed that we’ve been nominated in this year’s Brides Choice Awards.
In early November I’ll be putting on a fancy frock and heading to the Novotel Perth to celebrate with the best of Perth’s wedding industry. Hopefully, I’ll be bringing home a shiny new award for the mantle (fingers crossed).
KOPI TURNS 2!
Look at that face! Our sweet, fluffy studio puppy celebrated his second birthday!
It wasn’t that long ago that he was a teeny-tiny ball of fluff hiding between the paper shelves. They grow up so quickly!
