An Insiders Guide to saving money on your wedding stationery

It will come as no surprise to hear that weddings can turn into very costly little (or not-so-little) affairs. There are so many different facets to consider, from the venue, transportation, dresses and suits to cake, photographer … the list goes on. If you’re a savvy little wedding prepper you’re always on the lookout for where savings can be made. Want to know a little secret? It’s possible to save money on your wedding stationery without sacrificing design and quality. All it takes is a little insider knowledge.

ORDER EVERYTHING AT ONCE

When you’re organising your Save the Dates and invitations it’s a smart idea to ask for On the Day items like ceremony booklets, place cards, menus, welcome signs and table numbers to be quoted for and booked in. This can not only save you money but it can also tick off a number of items on your to-do list.

Order more than you think you will need

It’s always a good idea to order extra invitations just in case. Adding a few extras will help avoid any reprint fees, minimum quantity amounts or rush fees.

PROOFREAD, PROOFREAD, PROOFREAD!

Always check your proofs thoroughly. We suggest asking someone else to check them too because an extra pair of eyes will usually pick up what you miss. If you notice mistakes at the proofing stage changes are easy to make. If you spot mistakes after your invitations have been printed it’s going to be a costly exercise to get them reprinted – especially if it’s a rush job.

Check postage

It’s a good idea to keep the size and weight of your invitations to within standard sizes to avoid extra costs to mail them out. If you have your heart set on square or A5 invites, or something extra blingy, have a chat to your local post office to get an idea of postage costs before going ahead with design.

BY THE WAY, we offer payment plans

We want to make it as easy as possible for you to have the wedding stationery of your dreams, which is why we now offer payment plans. If you’re interested in learning more, book a meeting with Lala or email to request more information.
